Systems Debug Steering and Capabilities Leader ( Data Center GPU )

 

THE ROLE:

This is a Director level technical leadership role responsible for all aspects of triage and debug for complex CPU or GPU systems, specifically focusing on the latest generation AMD Instinct GPUs powering complex AI and HPC workloads. The successful candidate will collaborate with a broad network of designers, architects, and cross-functional teams to quickly root cause and resolve all critical issues impacting program execution and will develop and implement tracker frameworks with analytics to help communicate the health of the program and aid in prioritization of resources. This role involves growing a team of highly technical DC GPU debug leaders and influencing the roadmap of debug capabilities, including managing teams driving these capabilities forward.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Lead and prioritize triage and debug of complex system-level issues, encompassing silicon to software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Collaborate with designers, architects, and cross-functional teams for effective issue resolution.
  • Influence the roadmap for debug capabilities to shorten time to resolution for complex, at-scale issues.
  • Develop and implement tracker frameworks with analytics to communicate program health and aid in resource prioritization.
  • Manage and retain large amounts of data for correlation of new and known issues.
  • Directly engage with DC GPU clients to address their technical issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Build and lead a team of experts for all of the above.

PREFERRED SKILLS:  

  • Strong technical acumen and quick diagnosis skills for system-level bugs.
  • Experience in leading Silicon validation readiness & bring-up for internal teams.
  • Expertise in x86 architecture, Server platform architecture, and GPU/CPU silicon debug.
  • Proficiency in various debug tools such as JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective and timely resolution to issues.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 15+ years of industry experience in processor validation and/or debug.
  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience at a program level & guidance to engineers.
  • 7+ years of end-to-end product validation experience.
