THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a Fellow-level Engineer to join our team to develop world-class products around server, client, and embedded processors. In this role you will be engaged with architecture, micro architecture, RTL, PD, and internal stakeholders to research new innovations to improve future AMD CPUs, tools, analysis, and more. In this role you will provide a cohesive technical vision for how to utilize emerging technologies and methodologies to substantially improve CPU innovation. 

 

THE PERSON: 

You will possess very strong problem-solving skills and bring broad experience in architecture, algorithms, and methodologies, with a strong, self-motivated work ethic and high levels of collaboration and cross-functional partnership.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Define new research directions to support future AMD CPU designs 
  • Develop and deploy new tools and methodologies to accelerate CPU-related research innovation
  • Develop prototypes and proofs of concepts of new features, tools, and methodologies
  • Partner with product-team stakeholders to take research innovations and transfer the technologies to impact the product roadmap
  • Excellent communication skills and strong collaboration across multiple business units 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Deep experience in CPU architecture and microarchitecture
  • Deep experience in workload and architecture performance modeling and analysis
  • Experience in applied modern AI/ML tools and flows 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • PhD degree in computer science/computer engineering/electrical engineering or equivalent
