THE ROLE:
Responsible for managing assigned commodities and developing a global procurement strategy; implementing a supplier development program that has an integrated long-term approach on cost, quality, and service. Responsible for developing and managing the strategic supplier relationship. May provide analytical support and make recommendations regarding sourcing strategies, requirements planning, and revenue generation. Manage cross-functional and cross site business processes to support operational (PO) process execution.

Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for acquiring results. Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with partner to understand and set cost targets for managed categories; Lead competitive bid process & analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction and business awards for the commodity with key suppliers
- Manage supplier's performance to contractual requirements which meet AMD short- and long-term needs. Implement contracts to minimize AMD risk and enable supplier accountability for non-performance
- Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers and manage the quarterly scorecard to review service level on cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility
- Develop commodity strategy which fully reflects requirements of the partners. Update on a regular basis to track progress against plan
- Understand industry trends through on-going market research and benchmarking
- Execute all activities associated with Procure-to-Pay such that orders are issued and invoiced in a timely manner
- Demonstrate efficient and effective use of AMD strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes
- Communicate effectively with key partners on all levels
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Indirect procurement experience
- Proven knowledge of indirect purchasing and contract negotiations
- Understanding of global/regional markets and cultures preferred
- Demonstrated effective advanced computer skills
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills
- Effective leadership and project management skills
- Proficient with Teams, OneNote, PowerBI, Excel and Spend Analysis
- Understanding of SoC design methodology and tools
AI Skills Requirements
- Data Fluency & Analytics: Ability to interpret, validate, and communicate insights from AI-generated data, including supplier metrics, market trends, and contract analytics.
- Prompt Engineering: Proficiency in designing effective prompts for AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini) to automate tasks such as contract drafting, bid analysis, and supplier evaluation.
- AI System Integration: Experience with deploying and managing AI-powered procurement solutions, including spend classification, invoice audit, and document Q&A agents. Familiarity with integrating AI tools with SAP, Ariba, and other procurement platforms.
- Responsible AI Practices: Understanding of AI governance, risk assessment, and ethical standards in procurement. Ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure responsible use of AI and compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated application of AI to reimagine processes to bring quantifiable benefits to the organization.

- Change Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading organizational change initiatives in procurement, including digital transformation and process automation. Ability to develop and execute change management plans using frameworks such as
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in communicating change objectives, training team members, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to drive adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Process Optimization: Ability to identify, plan, and implement process improvements that minimize disruption and maximize efficiency. Experience in tracking progress, gathering feedback, and adjusting strategies to ensure successful change outcomes.
- Cultural Readiness: Capable of assessing organizational readiness for change, managing resistance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the procurement function.
