THE ROLE:
As a member of the Computing & Graphics (CG) SoC Architecture team, you will develop and design custom silicon for client, discrete graphics, handheld gaming, gaming consoles, and related platforms. In this role, you will work with SoC architects to analyze product specifications, micro-architecture specifications, performance, and power trade-offs. The role will work from early concept development through the development phases to final production.

You will collaborate with a network of expert architects and designers around the world where collaboration and communication skills are critical to the success of this role, and excellent organization skills are essential. You are self-directed, a strategic problem solver, able to handle complexity and ambiguity. You will approach sophisticated problems with a physical design perspective to drive performance, power, and area efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with SOC architecture leads to analyze physical design tradeoffs for power, performance, and area impact
- Support physical design pathfinding activities to influence and define next-generation architecture
- Work closely with architecture, design, and packaging teams on area and floorplan refinement,
- Work with AMD's Engineering teams and IP teams to drive alignment of area and timing targets
- Analyze and compile competitive analysis data
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant experience in SOC physical design
- Strong PnR, STA, IR/EM, Physical Verification knowledge/experience
- Solid understanding of SoC construction including fabric connectivity, memory systems, multi-die design, power delivery, clock distribution, floorplanning, and packaging
- Design experience in advanced node technologies
- Familiarity with CPU and/or GPU architecture
- Skills in scripting, data analysis, experience with EDA tools, VLSI design flow and CMOS technology.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work in a dynamic and diverse environment
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, TCL, Python) is highly preferred
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
