THE ROLE

In this high-profile role, you will be the Program Core Team Leader driving the definition, execution, and productization of our industry-leading OEM Desktop, Notebook, and Workstation platforms. You will work across all Engineering and Business functions to meet both technical and financial program objectives. 

 

 

THE PERSON

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant working experience in new product development from system definition, chip design, platform, product, and/or program management disciplines.

The candidate must have a strong understanding of the general engineering process (preferably System, CPU, or GPU), from concept to production. Furthermore, the candidate should have experience driving multi-site and multi-disciplined engineering programs in a complex matrixed environment.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • End-to-End Program Execution: Drive the full program lifecycle from concept to production, including Requirements, SOW, proposals, design, technology, and execution, in collaboration with engineering and supporting functions.
  • Leadership & Executive Reporting: Responsible for program leadership and reports out regularly to executives on status, decisions, and solutions to issues during execution.
  • Strategic Alignment: Delivers on all program commitments, in alignment with the customer, government, and business objectives.
  • Schedule Development: Develops program schedules by considering various dependencies; negotiates and creates a plan that supports the schedule.
  • Plan Integrity: Building, creating, and maintaining a well-developed, managed, and executed program plan is critical.
  • Artifact & Scope Management: Establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, project/program timelines, requirements, scope, performance, and quality KPIs.
    • Responsible for vetting or rejecting new/change requests and sanctioning scoping of proposed or agreed-upon changes by the core team.
    • Owns driving the core team to consensus on decisions that impact the bounding box.
  • Performance Metrics (KPIs): Hitting cost, schedule, committed features, power, and performance targets.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Direct Customer and Partner relationship management.
  • Core Team Leadership: Tailors the roles of each core team member according to the needs of the program including defining cross-functional ownership, managing effective performance of the core team, and managing the membership to achieve program objectives.

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant Industry Experience: 12+ years in Technical Program Management in a dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within Semiconductor, OEM Hardware, or Systems Engineering organizations.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: The candidate must be a proven leader able to create and maintain a working cross-functional team. The role requires outstanding program management skills to lead, motivate, and guide world-class engineers without direct HR authority.
  • Problem Solving & Executive Communication: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings with recommendations to senior management and AMD customers.
  • Domain Expertise: System or silicon-based program management experience is highly preferred.
  • Agility: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple parallel work streams under tight deadline
  • Scope Management: Ability to assess and scope requirements and features and relate them to the overall program schedule from concept to production.
  • Strategic Initiative Management: Proven ability to manage strategic initiatives that span multiple quarters or years with distinct phases and discrete deliverables.

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/ Science
  • PMP certification or MBA is a plus
