THE ROLE:

In this role you will lead the team responsible for product development efforts for FPGA silicon targeting a broad range of embedded applications. This includes the entire product planning cycle — from product strategy and concept capture through handoff to execution teams.

 

THE PERSON:

Will be able to work with & lead large cross-functional teams. Can develop, influence, and sell concepts to multiple teams including the AMD executive team. Strong business acumen to develop strong business case for concepts. Effective communicator. Strong presentation skills. Must be adaptable and thrive in ambiguous situations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive Product Strategy
    Lead the product strategy for adaptive / FPGA silicon targeting applications in wide range of markets including Communications, Data Center, Defense, Industrial, and Test markets — from concept capture through to execution.
  • Long-Term Planning
    Develop and maintain long-term plans for product and IP strategy, aligning with market trends and business goals.
  • Competitive Analysis
    Analyze competitive product and IP offerings and predict next generation offerings.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    Serve as the central resource and subject matter expert for cross-functional teams, including architecture, design, quality, test, marketing, and business stakeholders, throughout the product and IP lifecycle.
  • Whole Product Delivery
    Ensure delivery of the complete product solution, including non-silicon components such as software, libraries, development tools, IP cores, and demonstration boards.
  • Requirements Documentation
    Define and document product and IP requirements in a Market Requirements Document (MRD), and refine them into a Product Requirements Document (PRD) as the plan of record.
  • Decision-Making & Prioritization
    Make clear, decisive calls on product features—what's in and what's out—and negotiate trade-offs in complex situations to align with strategic priorities.
  • Executive & Technical Communication
    Present confidently and effectively to both executive-level and technical audiences, ensuring clarity and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Team Management
    Manage, support and mentor less experienced members to help grow the team's overall capabilities to meet future challenges

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Act as a subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas:

  • Business acumen
  • FPGA fabric
  • High-speed protocols & Memory interfaces
  • Tools architecture and development flows for FPGAs
  • Leading product concepts to product release

EDUCATION:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • MBA preferred
