Senior Technical Program Manager – AI Agent

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead execution of the AI Agent roadmap in the Intelligence Systems team within AMD AI Group. This role is accountable for turning algorithmic and agentic research into reliable, scalable, customer-facing software outcomes. You will reduce operational overhead, bring execution discipline to complex software flows, and ensure customer-driven work results in durable product and process improvements.

You will partner closely with AI researchers, software engineers, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, stabilize releases, streamline communication, and accelerate delivery of high-impact AI capabilities on AMD accelerated compute platforms.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate combines deep technical credibility in AI/ML systems with a hands-on execution mindset. You are comfortable going deep on design docs, model architectures, performance/debug issues, and complex customer environments—while also driving clarity, ownership, and predictable delivery across teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and drive the AI Agent roadmap execution from research to productization, including quarterly planning/OKRs and delivery commitments.
  • Convert research breakthroughs into crisp engineering plans and measurable milestones
  • Influence prioritization decisions balancing long-term algorithmic advancement with near-term product/customer needs
  • Drive cross-team execution (algorithm, software, hardware, platform) to ensure synchronized timelines, dependency management, and release readiness.
  • Consolidate customer requests and feedback into durable software features, tooling, test coverage, and process improvements; ensure learnings are reused across customers.
  • Proactively identify risks, execution gaps, and systemic bottlenecks; implement mitigation plans and hold teams accountable to closure.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication and present technical progress, risks, and tradeoffs to leadership with clarity
  • Develop robust metrics and effective mechanisms for evaluating the impact of research on customer workloads and revenue, with a focus on continuous improvement.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven TPM leadership delivering complex, cross-functional AI/ML or system programs end-to-end in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Strong technical depth to understand and track highly technical issues (AI/ML algorithms, performance, system integration, debugging, reliability).
  • Experience productizing AI research into robust software deliverables.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is desired
