THE ROLE: 

As a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) System Validation Engineer, you will be part of a highly technical team that develops test plans, feature enable, & debugs electrical issues in the memory sub-system of leading-edge processor silicon. A key part of your role will involve the enablement, debugging, and qualification with memory vendors to be included in the Approved Vendor List (AVL).

 

THE PERSON: 

We are seeking a skilled system validation engineer with keen attention to detail and the ability to efficiently execute tasks in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation in system validation, particularly with DDR interfaces, and possess strong organizational skills. The person needs to be well-motivated in deliveries, good communication skills and leadership.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Execution of Test Plans: Execution of system-level memory sub-system validation test plans across AMD products.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely within the team to support testing and debugging activities, fostering innovation and shared success.
  • Vendor Coordination: Engage effectively with memory vendors to aid in the enablement and debug process, and facilitate AVL qualification as part of a collaborative team effort.
  • Leadership and Management of Contract Workers: Lead contract workers in executing validation tasks, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Data Analysis: Data analysis efforts to optimize validation processes for greater efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and clear documentation of test procedures, results, and vendor interactions.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Requires BE+ or master's degree with 7+/5+ years' experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the development & execution of platform level electrical & functional test plans. DDR/GDDR Memory test experience on electronic components such as Processors would be considered a big plus.
  • Requires extensive hands-on experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the debug of I/O interfaces such as DDR.
  • Familiar with signal measurement, reading schematics and layout documentation
  • Requires good written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiar with Python, Ruby, Perl language.
  • Self-Motivated with program management skillset.
