SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER 1
THE ROLE:
As a Silicon Design Engineer in the System Interface Group (SIG), you will work with SOC architects, IP and emulation teams and product/customer engineering to provide register definitions and functional information for upcoming SOC designs. We work with all business units in the company - laptops, servers, desktops, consoles, AI, etc. .
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture and digital design. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems and resolve issues to root cause.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understanding and analyzing logic designs from a software programming model perspective.
- Complex asset ownership--formal specifications and associated collateral (documentation, web, and data).
- Manage dependencies, content and quality against schedule and stakeholder expectations.
- Debugging the SOC data flow to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Defect management and resolution ownership.
- Definition tasks include gathering information from a wide range of parties inside and outside of the SoC design team: simulation, platform emulation, IP and SOC teams - and managing microprocessor and SoC behavioral definitions.
- Additional tasks include generating clear, concise, organized documentation of assorted microprocessor and SoC behaviors for publication inside and outside of the company.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- The candidate ideally has experience with x86 software models, microprocessors, graphics processors, PC chipset hardware and general familiarity with microprocessor and PC/SOC architecture.
- Software engineering/debug experience.
- Familiarity with OO languages.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python, XML, etc. is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience with managing multiple deadlines and deliverables.
- Comfortable working within international/distributed teams.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred.
