THE ROLE: 

As part of the Computing & Graphics (CG) SoC Architecture team, you will play a key role in shaping and executing product strategy across the CG roadmap which includes client, discrete graphics, handheld gaming, and gaming console platforms. You will partner with key stakeholders to establish the long term vision of products. You will define product specifications, drive performance and power trade off decisions, and convert market and customer needs into clear architectural direction.

In this role, you will partner closely with SoC, IP, and system architects to align cross‑program requirements, shape cohesive product‑level architectures, and guide technology choices that ensure competitive silicon solutions across CG. You are self‑driven and motivated to win—bringing strong awareness of the competitive landscape and the evolving customer technology environment.  You excel at collaborating with top thinkers and engineers, and you are skilled at communicating and distilling complex information for both senior leadership and contributing engineers alike.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with architecture leads to translate product requirements into detailed specifications
• Support pathfinding activities to influence and define next-generation architecture
• Analyze design tradeoffs in terms of performance, power and area impact
• Analyze and compile competitive analysis data
• Work with AMD's Engineering teams and IP teams to ensure architectural alignment of features and clean interoperability and integration
• Develop and maintain comprehensive end-to-end process documentation to ensure cross-team alignment and clarity for execution

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Relevant experience in SOC design
• Solid understanding of SoC construction including fabric connectivity, memory systems, power delivery, clock distribution, floor planning, and packaging
• Skills in scripting, data analysis, experience with EDA tools, VLSI design flow and CMOS technology.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work in a dynamic and diverse environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to approach novel problems from multiple perspectives and at varying levels of abstraction
• Ability to analyze and understand sophisticated workflows and processes, and develop innovative ways in streamlining and automating
• Proven ability to translate complex technical details into clear, concise, and well-structured documentation
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, TCL, Python) is highly preferred

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering
