THE ROLE:
AMD's SW Ecosystem Security Engineering Team is seeking a senior systems engineer with a focus on delivery of Confidential Compute Solution stacks enabled by AMD's Secure Encrypted Virtualization capabilities (SEV). The developer will write code and tests that enables AMD confidential compute features in community projects such as kata containers, confidential containers, and VirTEE. This role requires expertise in x86 architecture, virtualization, and security, along with experience in open-source engagement and upstreaming. You will design and develop attestation and certification functions for the Linux and Microsoft Windows host and guest operating systems. This role involves all phases of software development, with a focus on security, virtualization, and AMD's confidential computing roadmap.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The focus for this role is developing code and tests that enables AMD confidential computing features in community projects such as VirTEE, Trustee, Kata, and Confidential Containers (Coco) Key areas of focus include:
- Enabling SEV features in container runtimes such as confidential/kata containers.
- Contribute tests to internal & external CI projects for AMD confidential computing features.
- Provide consultation to SW partners and customers on AMD confidential compute software stack.
- Debug confidential compute software stack
- Enabling SEV features in attestation tooling such as VirTEE and third-party attestation services.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Understanding of x86 computing architecture. Proven experience across the entire software development lifecycle. In-depth knowledge of operating system kernels, virtualization, and security. Successful track record in developing and delivering code upstream in the open-source community. Experience collaborating with ISVs and software partners to deliver software solutions. Technical proficiency with Linux, qemu, kvm, Rust, bash scripting, and go lang.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
