THE ROLE:

The Talent Mobility Lead is a strategic partner responsible for designing, implementing, and managing programs that encourage internal movement and growth of employees across the organization, and facilitate employee relocation. This role is a key driver of employee engagement and retention by providing clear and transparent career pathways. This leader will work to build a culture of internal growth while building a more agile, resilient, and skilled workforce.

THE PERSON

AMD is seeking a strategic thinker who can translate business needs into talent initiatives and connect the dots across the organization. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and influencer, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and driving cultural change in a global setting. They should possess strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision-making to measure program effectiveness and influence decisions. The candidate must be a collaborative leader, able to work effectively across departments and with HR partners, and quick to resolve issues or improve processes. Additionally, they should be proactive and creative in identifying and resolving issues related to internal talent processes and employee transitions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and program management:

  • Develop and execute the company's comprehensive internal mobility strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Design and launch internal talent marketplace initiatives, career pathing tools, and mobility programs.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners, talent acquisition, and talent/learning and development teams to create robust talent pipelines.
  • Develop clear, consistent, and transparent talent mobility policies and procedures.
  • Manage the internal application and interview process to ensure a smooth and equitable experience for all internal candidates.
  • Create and oversee resources that support internal career growth.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of a global vendor program, from selection and negotiation to performance monitoring and risk mitigation, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder collaboration and change management:

  • Work with senior leadership to secure buy-in and champion the value of talent mobility across the company.
  • Provide training and guidance to managers on how to conduct career development conversations and support their team members' internal moves.
  • Create a culture where managers are rewarded for developing and "exporting" talent to other teams, overcoming the practice of "talent hoarding".
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, offering career coaching and guiding them through the internal application process.

 Data and analytics:

  • Define and track key metrics to measure the success of the talent mobility program.
  • Regularly report on program progress and outcomes to leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Implement technology to facilitate a fair and efficient mobility process.

 Leadership:

  • Hire, develop, and lead the global talent mobility team to partner across the organization to achieve company goals
  • Encourage teamwork, communication, and collaboration through a positive leadership style

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Progressive experience in talent management, program management, or HR, with a focus on talent mobility, relocation, and/or career development.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful, large-scale mobility programs.
  • Success in building and leading high-performance global talent mobility teams.
  • Strong project management and change management skills.
  • Experience with internal talent marketplace technologies or career path platforms.
  • Experience in a corporate environment, preferably within the tech/semiconductor industries.
