Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Sr. Product Application Engineers to Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products. Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life. Deliver application support to our growing customer base for the next generation of products AMD is producing. Provide direct technical support to customers on critical design issues with a focus on embedded software and hardware. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify customer problems and propose appropriate solutions. Advise customers on design techniques and the implementation of alternative solutions. Develop tactical projects to explain or demonstrate product features. Generate self-support materials including application notes, reference designs, and answer records. Analyze customer cases and use data to influence product improvements. Identify gaps in products, provide test cases and work with engineering to resolve problems. Under supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires four (4) years of experience in the following:
1.Building, debugging, and deploying complete embedded Linux systems from source, including bootloaders;
2.Performing hardware verification;
3.Product development cycles for semiconductor products;
4.Computer Architecture; and
5.C, C++, or Python.
Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:
6.Embedded system development; and
7.PCB Design, Assembly, and Testing in Cadence or Allegro.
