SENIOR SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
The Senior AI/ML Engineer will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions at AMD, with a strong focus on multi-agent systems, MCP-based architectures, and automation strategies to enhance efficiency and deliver exceptional customer experiences. This role demands deep technical expertise in AI/ML algorithms, distributed systems, and production-grade deployments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing AI systems that drive AMD's innovation roadmap forward.

You are a highly motivated and results-driven engineer with a strong foundation in AI/ML development and distributed systems. You thrive on solving complex problems, communicate effectively, and excel at prioritizing tasks in dynamic environments. Adaptability, continuous learning, and the ability to work independently while fostering collaboration are key traits that define you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
4+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or related fields.
AI Agent Development: Expertise in designing and implementing multi-agent architectures, orchestration frameworks, and autonomous workflows using tools like LangChain, LangGraph, and MCP-based systems.
Vector Databases & RAG: Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Milvus) and implementing retrieval-augmented generation pipelines for intelligent data access.
LLM Development for Edge/Embedded Devices: Work on large language models (LLMs) to improve user experience for AMD edge and embedded devices, ensuring optimized performance and responsiveness.
Deep knowledge of ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, and RAG systems.
Proven ability to deploy AI models and agents at scale in production environments.
Strong programming skills in Python (primary language), with additional experience in backend technologies such as REST APIs, Docker, and TypeScript for scalable service development.
Proficiency in Docker, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and continuous integration of AI services.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and cloud-native architectures for high-performance AI workloads.
Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with large-scale training and inference using GPUs/TPUs.
Knowledge of model optimization techniques such as quantization, compression, and frameworks like TensorRT, ONNX.
Background in designing secure and compliant AI systems, including privacy, governance, and responsible AI practices.
Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or frameworks.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field strongly preferred.
