THE ROLE:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager 2 is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for critical semiconductor components. This role ensures supply continuity, cost optimization, and risk mitigation while aligning with the company's long-term business objectives and technology roadmap. This role will architect a global procurement roadmap, cultivate breakthrough supplier partnerships from NPI through MP, and deliver long‑term results on performance, cost, quality, and service. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for semiconductor components (e.g., PCB, Cold Plates, Integrated Circuits, Connectors)
- Perform supplier onsite audits to assess quality, compliance, and operational capabilities.
- Drive suppliers and internal teams to troubleshoot process issues and track development timelines to ensure project milestones are met.
- Negotiate contracts, MOUs, and long-term agreements with component suppliers to secure supply, ensure quality, and optimize costs.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering and alternative sourcing.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, cost drivers, and supplier capabilities.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and continuous improvement programs.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, finance, legal, and IT teams to support technology roadmaps, quality initiatives, on time delivery, and process optimization.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring compliance with trade regulations.
- Utilize data analytics to monitor pricing, market trends, and supplier performance for executive reporting.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- 8+ years of strategic sourcing experience within semiconductor industry.
- Category/commodity management experience for board components (e.g., PCB, Cold Plates, Integrated Circuits, Connectors, Passives)
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and global supply chain dynamics.
- Effective leadership, communication, and project management skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field
- Certifications like PMP, CSCP, CPSM are a plus
