THE ROLE:
In this position, you will serve as a system engineer for a global operation focused on evaluating and improving end user experience with OEM customer Client PC systems.  Using the latest Commercial, Consumer, and Gaming systems from all OEMs, you will work with Lead Engineers to define and validate and execute software, driver, firmware, and BIOS configurations to optimize system performance, stability to improve user experience (Net Promoter Score factors) and assure product quality.  As part of a larger team, you will execute competitive analysis, help identifying top improvement opportunities, help to drive corrective actions.

 

THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on system engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware, software, and user experience. They bring a strong foundation in client platform architecture and system validation, paired with a curiosity to deeply understand how real‑world configurations impact performance, stability, and overall end‑user satisfaction. This person is highly organized, self‑driven, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced lab environment, collaborating closely with senior engineers and globally distributed teams. They excel at executing and refining test plans, quickly triaging issues, and translating technical findings into actionable insights. With a strong analytical mindset and clear communication skills, they contribute meaningfully to competitive analysis and continuous improvement efforts, helping drive higher product quality and better user experiences across OEM client platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute Continuous Validation Lab Test plans on OEM Client platforms (Laptops, Desktops, Chromebook, Workstation, etc…) to ensure proper functionalities
  • Assist senior engineer to create and modify test plans to increase efficiency, test coverages and accommodate new business initiative
  • Report, document, and triage issues encountered when executing test plans
  • Plan and maintain OEM Client platform inventory and lab infrastructure
  • Perform competitive analysis between AMD based OEM systems and targeted competitor platforms

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Solid knowledge of AMD Client platform partitioning and high-level architecture
  • Knowledgeable in system validation methodology of hardware platforms and related software ecosystem
  • Must be well-organized, technically oriented, and a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate the activities of geographically distributed technical teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering fields preferred

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
