Job SummaryWe are looking for a new Buyer employee to be based in Kendal.
Summary:
This Buyer (Direct) role will be coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials, components and equipment.
What a typical day looks like:
- Placing orders for necessary raw materials and purchased parts according to the requirements of the production and managing purchase orders.
- Regular, weekly check of the stocks, avoiding overstock and minimizing the risk of obsolescence with the help of the weekly check of the obsolete report.
- Correspondence with the freight forwarders, warehouses, and in case organizing the transportation.
- Dealing with claims, settling debit and credit issues.
- Investigation inventory levels and checking the inventory of critical materials (personally if needed) according to the Shortage List
- Getting in touch with the right warehouse personnel and having the discrepancy modified if there is any inventory discrepancies.
- Assuring all active components according to production needs, in time, for the accord price in the request.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
- Manages supplier to price, delivery and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate..
- Conducts quarterly supplier reviews.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- At least 1 year of procurement experience.
- Good MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) skills
- Knowledge of an ERP software
- CIPS qualification is preferred
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Eligibility to work in the UK
