Position Overview
The Database Administrator is an Information Technology leader who is responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of the Aveanna database portfolio.
Essential Job Functions
Provisioning of database instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
Ensuring performance, security and availability of all databases in the Aveanna portfolio
Analysis, creation and optimization of queries executed by Electronic Medical Record software to improve performance and mitigate risk of service interruptions
Perform predictive analysis on existing DBMS and the creation and execution of a plan to prevent service interruptions
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
Production Support for the MySQL database management systems and all related software handling complex replications
Creation and management of database architecture documentation
Partner with the Director of Clinical Information Technology and the Director of Software Strategy and Data Architecture to translate strategies into actionable requirements for product development.
Intake visionary objectives from IT Leadership, to create and manage a database management strategy that will support the objectives.
Requirements
BA or BS degree (or equivalent experience)
Strong proficiency in MySQL database management
Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
Highly proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
Preferences
Healthcare experience
Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc
Proficient in AWS DBMS tools such as S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, etc
MySQL DBA Working experience with Linux
Other Skills/Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Performs duties in an office environment during agency operating hours.
Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
