What you'll be doing:

The primary duties will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the refinery department and supporting management functions in water treatment, extraction and preparation departments as well.

 

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • The Production Manager will provide strong safety leadership, along with strategic operational guidance and direction.
  • Supervise and develop production staff, including training, performance reviews, and scheduling.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment.
  • Monitor equipment and staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  • The Production Manager will provide strong safety leadership, along with strategic operational guidance and direction. 
  • Focus will be to produce and refine soybean oil for refined, bleached, and deodorized customer needs
  • Focus will be to produce quality finished feed products
  • Ensuring the latest process design is employed at this facility
  • Accountable for all internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on employee and product safety including strategic and tactical execution in alignment with corporate environment, health and safety and food safety, quality and regulatory functions as well as government regulations
  • Partner with an off-site cross-functional team including merchandising, accounting, manufacturing technology, and continuous improvement
  • Prepare, administer and control capital and operating budgets to achieve financial performance objectives set by the business and ensure accountability for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions
  • You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs


What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or similar is preferred
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • A high sense of integrity, professional courage, sound judgment and sense of urgency
  • A motivated self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with soy processing (oil, soybean meal, pellets) is preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office and the ability to quickly learn and utilize other standardized systems and software
  • Strong organization skills and strong attention to details
  • Must be able to drive and meet company insurance requirements

  • This job can be physically strenuous
  • You will work in tight and confined spaces

  • You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
  • This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders
  • You will be required to wear PPE which will include respirators in certain areas
  • You will be exposed to the weather, including extreme heat and/or cold, wind, rain, snow, and other adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to walk for extended periods of time over uneven surfaces
  • Will be exposed to various site hazards, including but not limited to loud noises and flashing lights, dust and fumes, hazardous materials, heavy equipment and machinery, and other situations specific to the work and location
