Summary of Position: 

Working in concert with both the Physical Therapy Supervisor and Performance Director, this team member will analyze patient/client fitness in order to help them improve their health and performance. Services provided by this team member will include, but are not limited to: post-operative exercise testing, physiological testing, performance testing, data analysis, program development, community outreach and performance coaching. This team member is expected to provide the highest level of customer service with a sense of confidence     , competence, courtesy and respect. This team member must be skilled with individual interactions as well as groups - ensuring a consistently exceptional experience at every interaction.

Qualifications

Education:

● Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field required, Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

● Three years working as Exercise Physiologist or Strength and Conditioning Coach required.

● Experience with physiologic and performance testing preferred.

● Extensive experience coaching in at least one of the following populations: athletes, general public and youth.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

● In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; bilingual abilities preferred. 

● Ability to read, write, understand and spell English medical terminology correctly.

● Experience with EPIC and MindBody preferred. 

● Moderate to advanced skills in a Google based organization.

● Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

● Ability to prioritize tasks and complete on a timely basis with minimal supervision.

● Ability to deal with change and seek out opportunities to effect change positively to promote patient/client care. 

● Experience participating in or conducting research preferred

● Experience with VO2, LT/AT, RMR, Bike Ergometry, Force Plates, GymAware, Optojump preferred

● Sport coaching and related certification preferred

Certifications/Licensure:

● National Certification as Exercise Physiologist, Strength and Conditioning Coach, CSCS, or Athletic Trainer preferred. (Required within six months of job offer)

● Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association required.

Essential Functions

1. Provides consistently exceptional care at all times.

2. Deliver world-class athletic development coaching to general population and performance clients in group, individual or workshop settings. This is inclusive of, but not limited to: principles and methods in the functional development of individual mobility and stability, strength and power, coordination and agility, endurance and post-rehabilitative care. 

3. Conduct and interpret physiological, biomechanical and kinesiological testing.

4. Work in collaboration with other sport and exercise professionals such as physical therapists, physicians, dietitians, strength and conditioning coaches, and sport psychologists.

5. Engage and collaborate in case study reviews and work with other team members to ensure consistency of practice and professional service delivery.

6. Provide supervision of program activities within the Barton Performance Center or off-site where appropriate.

7. Develop various types of training programs, monitor progress, and evaluate for additional athletic or rehabilitation needs. 

8. Perform community outreach activities to include, but are not limited to: sports performance training, health and fitness issues, and benefits of sport and exercise. 

9. Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
