Customer Care Agent                       

The Role:

Often the first and last contact a customer has with a Bassett Home Furnishings store is the customer care team.  A friendly greeting and cheerful customer service sets the tone for a pleasurable experience with Bassett.  Customer Care works with customers to arrange payment for merchandise, provide follow up on customer service issues, schedule deliveries, respond to post delivery and service surveys, as well as provide information on many other issues and questions – all in accordance with Bassett Home Furnishings standards.  The ideal candidate must possess a true passion for customer service.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Working directly with customers to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve post purchase service concerns;
  • Collecting payments and customers' order balances in full
  • Pulling delivery and service information from Dispatch Track;
  • Scheduling customer deliveries and service calls, and conducting customer satisfaction surveys;                                                                                                
  • Processing service orders and maintain communication with customer on service status;
  • Reviewing open service orders with team weekly;

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate
  • At least 3 years' experience in a retail or service related business involving customer service

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone, email, letter and face-to-face

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

  • Enthusiastic attitude in a team environment

  • Willingness to learn retail service applications
