The ideal candidate should feel confident in their ability to juggle numerous projects and create polished deliverables such as finish plans, schedules, and visual presentations. We're a small, tight-knit team working on everything from quick-turn renovations to ground-up developments; no two projects are the same and, through them, you'll get exposure to all stages of the design process.
Design Responsibilities:
- The candidate will cross disciplines in architecture, construction, development and interior design so an interest in the full composition of the building's design from inception to completion is necessary.
- Draft detailed drawings in AutoCAD (Floor plans, RCPs, electrical layouts, elevations, furniture plans, custom details, etc.).
- Prepare renderings, project presentations and finish boards to communicate design concepts.
- Coordinate closely with architect and general contractors to ensure that all intended design concepts are communicated clearly and executed as specified.
- Perform thorough reviews of construction documents to ensure consistency between the architects' drawings and the information Beacon Concepts has issued.
- Create and maintain finish and fixture schedules using Excel.
- Track and update all finishes/fixtures/details of assigned projects. Order samples to catalogue in project bins for Beacon Concepts' Material Reference Library.
- Record all critical correspondence related to assigned projects, from major design-related decisions to meeting notes.
- Assist in construction administration and review submittals of assigned projects.
- Research new materials and products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, including scheduling meetings and coordinating updates to our Material Reference Library.
- Aid in the furniture specifying and ordering process for projects.
- Manage scheduling of deliveries and coordination/facilitation of on-site installations/staging.
- Track and respond to design-related requests from our portfolio properties and corporate team.
- Keep digital project files organized so key information is easy to access and use.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Help keep Beacon Concepts' office and Material Reference Library clean, organized, and fully stocked. This includes refilling samples and updating project bins as designs evolve.
- Track and log individual project hours.
- Maintain our active project list and join weekly team meetings to review progress, next steps, and timelines.
- Manage and update our contacts, including a shared vendor list and the President of Beacon Concepts' professional network.
- Assist with general office support as needed (Coordinating appointments, shipping packages, responding to e-mails or voicemails when asked, etc.).
