Summary

The Employee Response Team (ERT) Manager will establish proper deployment strategies, supervise ERT personnel and monitor the performance of ERT personnel to provide highly visible armed security to the property and complement existing security programs. The ERT Manager will provide assistance and effective communication with Security personnel, law enforcement agencies and local partners as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Proactively recognize and manage emergency situations, including acts of violence, crises, weapons or explosive incidents, natural disasters, and various hazards endangering lives or property. Utilize appropriate escalation of force, up to and including armed response, following established protocols.

Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures.

Conduct covert surveillance operations if required.

Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and follow established protocol for reporting injuries.

Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.

Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.

Follow directions and/or orders from Senior personnel, particularly during an active shooter, assault or other similar situation.

Ethically lead the organization with methods and actions that fully comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Identify potential compliance risks and take necessary actions to eliminate or minimize them.

Promote a culture of compliance within the organization and encourage an environment where team members are comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.

Train, engage, mentor and support personnel.

Ability to physically engage with a person who is threatening others and accurately handle and shoot a firearm.

Respond calmly to crisis and stressful situations and make rational decisions when addressing guest and employee issues.

Complete daily activity reports and post-shift data analytics.

Review security reports.

Ensure the weekly schedule is complete and accurate. Schedule staff properly perform their assigned duties.

Coordinate all required departmental training for ERT personnel.

Investigate and resolve complaints involving ERT personnel.

Conduct or supervise criminal and employee investigations.

Must have courage and capacity to prohibit ERT Team Members from acting unlawfully and outside of policy.

Lead by example, employ the “Three Es” of guest service, and follow the R.I.C.H. core values (Respect, Integrity, Commitment and Humility).

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees of the Security Department's Emergency Response Team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws to include training employees, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing complaints and disciplinary problems.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree; three years' experience or equivalent combination of armed casino security experience, armed tribal security experience, investigation experience, or law enforcement experience. Internal applicants must be a current Manager, Sergeant or Security Supervisor of the Cache Creek Casino Resort Security Department.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with guests and other employees. Ability to write detailed reports and provide court testimony when necessary. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Other Requirements

Must possess their own firearm. The Security department will provide a list of authorized firearms

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Cache Creek Casino Resort Tribal Gaming License

Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certificate

Annual certification in firearms

Completion of the Security Department's Firearms Course

Completion of the Security Department's Defense and Detention Course

Must pass all firearms, defense and written testing required for the position within the first 80 days of appointment/employment.

The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is regularly exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
