Job Purpose

Manages curriculum and assessment development, data analysis, curriculum reviews, and training for school- and state-team members. Facilitates focus groups to gather quality feedback from school teams on CSUSA curricula and assessments. Suggests implementation plans within the CSUSA framework to best fit the needs of the schools within their designated state(s). Supports the State Team in state- and network-wide educational projects. Promotes the implementation of CSUSA's Education Model to ensure personalized learning for all students. Collaborates with various Support Center Departments and regional leadership teams to promote a common mission/vision. Conducts observations and delivers feedback to state and school teams regarding implementation of CSUSA curricula and assessments.

 

How You Will Impact Education

  1. Research and Development
    1. Conduct focus groups to gather quality feedback on CSUSA pacing guides, curriculum maps and unit assessments
    2. Has a comprehensive knowledge of the state standards, courses offered within the state, and all state assessments
    3. Maintains a working knowledge of curriculum and assessment to promote best practices for increased student achievement
    4. Conducts curriculum reviews for future implementation and analyzes internal data to determine effectiveness of current implementations
  2. Curriculum Development
    1. Design and update pacing guides, curriculum maps and core curriculum implementation guides
    2. Ensure alignment with educational standards and best practices
  3. Assessment Design
    1. Conduct item analyses and evaluate item difficulty, discrimination, point biserial correlations, distractor analysis, etc.
    2. Create and refine unit assessments to accurately measure student mastery of grade level benchmarks
  4. Expertise & Guidance
    1. Demonstrate expertise in benchmark, interim and state assessments
    2. Develop guidance and strategies for schools to prepare for assessment administration
    3. Explain the purpose and benefits of each assessment type and their differences
    4. Utilize state-provided resources to enhance curriculum and assessment programs/guidance, ensuring they meet state requirements and support student achievement
  5. Professional Development
    1. Develop and facilitate face-to-face and online training for effective curriculum and assessment implementation at multiple levels
    2. Topic specific in-service training as needed within deadlines
  6. Data Analysis
    1. Analyze assessment data to identify trends, inform instructional practices and improve student outcomes
    2. Create training resources for how to analyze data and how to drive instructional planning using the data provided
  7. Collaboration
    1. Work closely with focus group experts, school leaders, state team members and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective curriculum and assessment practices
  8. Compliance
    1. Ensure all curriculum and assessment materials comply with state and federal regulations
    2. Prioritize tasks to ensure completion of all projects by provided deadlines

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education (Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction preferred, or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • 2-5 years related experience in curriculum implementation, assessment development, data analysis and training.
  • In depth understanding of state educational standards, assessment practices and curriculum adoption/development processes.
  • Commitment to company mission, values, and promise.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • MAC proficient: Microsoft Office (O365, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), other relevant platforms/software programs, educational technology, and mobile communication device.
  • Such alternatives to the above requirements as CSUSA may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Ability to travel within the designated state throughout the year (12-month position).
