DATA SCIENTIST – COMMERCIAL BANKING PRICING & PROFITABILITY

 

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Responsible for leading data strategy and analytics for Commercial Banking Pricing and Profitability. This role will drive enterprise-wide alignment on profitability metrics, serve as the data steward for Finance in the Enterprise Data Warehouse, and develop advanced analytics to optimize capital performance. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in data modeling and analytics with a strong understanding of commercial banking and risk-adjusted profitability frameworks.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Lead Commercial Profitability data alignment across the Enterprise, ensuring a single source of truth.
• Act as the data steward for Finance, governing data quality, integrity, and accessibility for profitability metrics.
• Develop reporting analytics to evaluate Line of Business segment Return on Capital performance, highlighting areas of strength and opportunity for improvement down to the relationship manager level.
• Build Asset Liability Management (ALM) data models to align Commercial loan IRR trends and forecasting, improving accuracy for Line of Business portfolios.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in commercial lending and banking products.
• Create interactive dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Tableau) to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Lines of Business to educate teams on profitability tools and pricing optimization strategies.

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Finance
• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics, or a related field, with expertise in commercial banking or financial services.
• 3+ years of experience with profitability metrics (RAR, RAROC).
• Strong technical skills in data modeling, ETL processes, and tools like SQL, Python, or Alteryx.
  
  

Additional Qualifications

• Proficiency in visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced analytics platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.
• SQL, Python, or Alteryx
• Strong knowledge on Commercial Banking loan data 
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $87,000 - $153,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
