MANAGER OPERATIONS
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Operations Department Manager directly supports our clients, portfolio management team, and partners financial advisors. Responsibilities include the oversight of the movement of money in and out of the managed accounts, reviewing daily cash transactions and resolving retirement and custodian issues.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Manage and lead a team of analysts across all aspects of operations. This includes employee morale, HR issues, colleague development, planning, time management, and training. Escalate critical issue to management as needed.
- Oversee daily operations process. Assist operations team with any questions or problems that arise. Coordinate with Pershing on any outstanding issues. Work with Portfolio Management teams and Financial Advisors to solve any problems or complex issues that might arise.
- Oversee and develop the middle office team. Manage and lead the associates and foster the relationship between these associates and the portfolio manager teams.
- Review and approve all asset movement requests. Ensure all procedures have been followed and proper paperwork received, signatures, and client verifications. Verify all information has been input correctly in the system and approve so Pershing can process.
- Oversees the RMD process for the Pershing clients. Tracks all clients and makes sure any account that is required to take a distribution satisfies the requirement.
- Identify and establish new process/procedures to improve current operations and streamline activities.
- Build and strengthen relationships with vendors, custodians and internal/external partners.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects as they relate to both the operational aspect of client accounts and department-wide process improvement.
- Oversee proxy voting, corporate actions, margin details, source of funds reporting, IRS B Notices, and Private Investments.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 5-7 years experience in financial services
- 2-3 years experience in management capacity
- 2 years experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working in an operations or Client Services department for investment management firm.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in order to interact with all levels of firm's colleagues and clients required. Demonstrated use of effective sales and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of business.
- Ability to multi-task and perform with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with heavy workloads and high call volumes.
- Proactively develop self to continuously improve knowledge, skills and credentials and communicate development needs to CN Rochdale Managers.
- Series licenses 7, 24 preferred
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $78,970 - $126,140 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
