Description

The City of Edmonton is undertaking a significant digital transformation through the Enterprise Commons project. As the Change Management Specialist for the Human Capital Management stream, you'll report to the Enterprise Commons Business Transformation Lead and play a key role in preparing leaders, employees and business areas for the change. You will be part of delivering the Change Management approach to maximize people leader and employee adoption to changes in processes, systems, and culture. A core function is serving as a primary coach and advisor, guiding executive sponsors, managers, and product owners on change leadership best practices. You will work closely with the Business Readiness team, Human Capital Management project team,  the Employee Services branch, and Change Ambassadors,  ensuring change principles are embedded directly into their operations to achieve organizational success.

What will you do?

  • Develop and deliver on change management strategies and plans that support project success and employee adoption
  • Assess change impacts, business area readiness, resistance and risks in order to support leaders and staff in the transition from current to future state
  • Build a strong understanding of City business processes and how projects and initiatives will impact employees and business areas
  • Plan and lead engagement activities to build awareness, readiness and adoption
  • Define success measures, monitor change progress and evaluate adoption using qualitative and quantitative data
  • Identify risks, barriers and gaps, and develop practical strategies to address them
  • Monitor evolving project scope and deliverables, translating changes from other project areas to adapt change management plans as needed
  • Partner with Change Management Specialists and project teams to align change activities across Enterprise Commons
  • Advise and coach leaders and project teams on practical, agile and adaptable change management approaches
  • Provide change management expertise and guidance on employee experience, change management practices, methodologies and tools
  • Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Organization Development, or equivalent disciplines
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with large-scale, complex change initiatives

Asset:

  • Experience in change management as part of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation project is an asset
  • Experience in Human Resources, or Human Capital Management would be considered an asset
  • CCMP, ACM, CMP, or similar accreditation considered an asset

Skills required for success:

  • Experience working in a municipal government environment is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams/individuals and managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Google Suite is required
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Well-versed with multiple change management methodologies with demonstrated ability to apply them appropriately
  • Experience with SAP products and applications is desirable
  • Applicant maybe tested
  • Knowledge and experience with process mapping best practices

  • The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Salary Range: $48.774 - $61.628 (Hourly) ; $101,840.110- $128,679.260 (Annually)
