Description
Are you a master of logistics with a passion for wildlife and community celebration? The Edmonton Valley Zoo is looking for an energetic and organized Special Events Coordinator to bring our facility to life! In this role, you won't just be planning events; you'll be creating "zooper" memories for thousands of visitors while supporting animal conservation. If you thrive in a fast-paced, vibrant environment and love leading a dedicated team, we want to meet you!
As the Special Events Coordinator, you are the creative engine behind our themed and timed-ticketing events. You will oversee the entire event lifecycle—from initial planning and budgeting to on-site execution and post-event evaluation. A significant part of your role involves building a strong team by recruiting, training, and supervising program assistants, interpreters, and ride operators. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams like Animal Care and Site Services, as well as community partners like the Valley Zoo Development Society, to ensure every guest has a safe and magical experience. Whether you are managing event actuals or participating in a radio feature to promote our latest attraction, your work directly impacts the success and spirit of the Zoo.

- Plan and Coordinate: Design, implement, and evaluate high-profile themed events and timed-entry programs
- Lead the Team: Recruit, train, schedule, and coach a diverse team of Interpreters, Mechanical Ride Operators, and Program Assistants
