The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is looking for two (2) self-motivated and organized professionals to join the Human Resources Information Management Section (HRIM). The successful applicants must be able to work within tight deadlines. Proven ability to provide excellent customer service is essential. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to business users of the HR applications and processes implemented at EPS (by phone or email).
- Providing direction to EPS employees on the use of the HRIM system and processes, consistent with EPS policies and collective agreement rules.
- Providing user-acceptance testing, enhancements, and deployment of new HRIM initiatives.
- Maintaining EPS transfers in HR applications and implementing them on time to keep members' schedules up to date as operationally required.
- Developing user guides, support tools, user documentation and user training in support of HR systems and processes.
- Analyzing business needs in order to develop appropriate scheduling solutions for various EPS administrative and operational areas.
- Acting as a liaison to the IT department, payroll, and 3rd party vendors while researching and identifying root causes with problems within the HR systems.
- Performing other related duties as required.
- Diploma in Business Administration, or a discipline as required by area of specialization, and/or a Payroll Manager certification from the Canadian Payroll Association, and/or a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist through a recognized post-secondary educational institute. A minimum of five (5) years progressive payroll and benefits experience, with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation would be an asset.
- Two (2) years CARM Knowledge & Experience (admin or CARM Super User).
- Two (2) years working experience in Payroll.
- Two (2) years experience working with Collective Agreements.
- Experience working in a policing environment would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (oral & written).
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel knowledge is required).
- Attention to detail is very important in this position.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a “variable hours” of work program.
Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 020, $42.15 - $52.86 (Hourly), $2,845.60 - $3,568.70 (Biweekly), $74,270.09 - $93,141.96 (Annually).
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
