Description

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Project and Site Logistics Coordinator to join our Community Recreation and Culture branch! You will bridge the gap between strategic planning and on-the-ground execution, and be instrumental in advancing the park's mission while preserving its status as a premier historical attraction. We are looking for a collaborative leader who can navigate complex projects and build strong relationships with our diverse community partners.

In this role, you will report to the Operations Management Supervisor and lead strategic operational projects that support the animation and advancement of Fort Edmonton Park. You will act as a primary liaison between various City departments and external organizations, ensuring capital projects and maintenance initiatives are successfully implemented. Your work involves providing critical staff insight into facility rehabilitation and retrofits to ensure designs are feasible and respect the site's historical integrity. Additionally, you will oversee site access, security, and parking management teams to ensure daily service delivery meets operational demands.

What will you do?

  • Lead assigned projects in alignment with strategies, policies, and land use regulations
  • Act as the primary liaison with internal departments for capital project development and maintenance
  • Coordinate functional programs for minor and major facility rehabilitation or retrofits
  • Research and develop business cases, capital profiles, and grant applications to support long-term conservation goals
  • Liaise with Corporate Procurement to prepare, tender, and manage project-related contracts
  • Oversee the project lifecycle from initiation and design review to the "transition to operate" phase
  • Identify and maintain relationships with internal and external collaborators to keep them informed throughout project development
  • Supervise site access, security, and parking management teams, including recruitment and onboarding of temporary staff
  • Develop bi-weekly work schedules, approve timesheets, and ensure a safe, respectful workplace culture
  • Respond to inquiries from leadership and members of the community
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education, Heritage/Historical Studies, Project Management, or a related field
  • 7 years of experience in community recreation working with partner groups

Assets:

  • Experience working specifically within a major attraction or heritage site
  • Experience in budget management and financial oversight
  • Experience in contract development, negotiations, and program management
  • Experience in community facility development and project management
  • Supervisory experience within a unionized environment

  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess risks, critically analyze issues, and recommend viable solutions
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Google applications and web-based communication tools

Conditions of Employment:

  • Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as wearing steel-toe boots and head protection
  • Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with frequent exposure to outdoor environmental conditions
  • Due to the nature of this work, this position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement
  • The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time in accordance with the CSU 52 collective agreement
  • This is a public-facing role and requires engagement and interaction with diverse people with different needs and emotional states

Salary Range: $47.172 - $59.281 (Hourly); $98,495.140 - $123,778.730 (Annually)
