Job Description

This position is responsible for implementing services and activities related to outreach and recruitment by advising potential students, public, and community partners on the Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Division of Workforce & Economic Development (DWED) program offerings.  One of the key responsibilities is to promote career pathways, ability to benefit, and establish relationships with employers for student job placement opportunities.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Exceptional listening, communication, presentation, and writing skills.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external partners.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student/employee groups.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to collaborate with the registration team to meet enrollment objectives.

  • Ability to collaborate with curriculum and advising team to identify and prepare students for career readiness activities such as mock interviews, resume writing, employment opportunities etc.

  • Ability to coordinate and conduct information sessions.

  • Ability to attend public events such as job fairs and distribute marketing materials at these events.

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employers.

  • Knowledge in the development of students' employment and/or career goals

  • Knowledge of educational technology and its use in classroom environments

  • Knowledge of career pathways and Clark County's emerging business sectors (Manufacturing, IT, Healthcare, Early Childhood Education, Business & Financial Services)

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and travel to offsite locations.

  • Knowledge of college services including recruitment and retention, disability resources, financial aid, and the Division of Workforce and Economic Development

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1 to 2 years minimum experience in Adult Education or English as a Second Language field.

$25.00 Hourly
