Job Description

The College of Southern Nevada and the CSN Foundation seeks an experienced philanthropy professional with a passion for nonprofit excellence. The Manager of Donor & Alumni Relations reports to the CSN Foundation, Executive Director. As a member of the CSN Foundation Team, the Manager of Donor and Alumni Relations will create, execute, and evaluate all philanthropy strategies with a donor-centered philosophy to ensure a diverse and sustainable revenue portfolio to support the CSN Foundation mission.

The Manager of Donor & Alumni Relations will work in coordination with the Executive Director to develop strategies and implement tactics that will successfully increase philanthropic support from key constituencies to cultivate giving and retention of stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing strategies to sustain and strengthen fundraising objectives. This role will combine fundraising experience with best practices in philanthropy that will retain existing donors, increase the average gift size, expand the number of donors, and proactively engage CSN Alumni.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is deeply familiar with annual and individual giving best practices and skilled in using data and systems to drive strategic efforts. We seek a high-energy, innovative, results-driven, highly organized development professional with outstanding writing and communication skills. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be excited to take on new challenges, and be able to work well independently and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of NSHE Board of Regents policy and procedures, applicable State and Federal statutes/regulations governing nonprofit organizations, including specific agency grants processes, regulations, and programmatic requirements and ability to research and interpret.

  • Knowledge of best practices in nonprofit fundraising, financial reporting, and donor stewardship.

  • Prepare Board and Committee meeting materials.

  • Provide weekly reports to the CSN Foundation Executive Director.

  • Knowledge of best practices, philosophies, and processes in fundraising.

  • Demonstrated ability and success in fundraising and securing grants for multiple issues and different types of organizational types and needs in the community.

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to write, proofread and edit.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management.

  • Knowledge of reporting protocols and processes.

  • Ability to develop procedures and practices to increase work efficiencies.

  • Time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize.

  • Organizational and planning skills with demonstrated experience in project with time sensitive deadlines.

  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.

  • Strategic thinker and ability to problem solve. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4 years related professional experience in management, fundraising, stewardship, grant writing and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years experience nonprofit fundraising experience and demonstrated knowledge of annual giving, restricted giving as well as personal interaction with donors, internal and external stakeholders.

  • 1 year experience in alumni engagement and solicitation.

  • 1 year experience in volunteer management.

Salary Information:
 

Administrative Faculty D – The starting salary is $75,564
