Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator - Full Time

As a full-time, exempt, CPS Solutions, LLC Clinical Coordinator, you will work with the Director and Buyer to control and meet the budget goals; provide follow up to the actual clinical initiatives and programs of the Hospital, as well as initiate new clinical programs according to new guidelines and standards; Provide education to Pharmacy staff, Nursing and Faculty as required; Have active participation with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Infectious Control. Clinical jobs and responsibilities will be discussed and implemented with the Director of Pharmacy. Support the Staff Pharmacist with the supervision of technicians, update the Director about daily activities and aid the Director in maintaining the Pharmacy. 

Additional duties include:
  • Serve as a clinical resource for the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services at the site level including antibiotic stewardship program.
  • Coordinate all activities related to the Antibiotic Stewardship Committee and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee (or equivalent) and for formulary management
  • Build effective relationships with other healthcare professionals and departments within the hospital and company
  • Promote clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care through the development of new (or expansion of existing) pharmacy practice programs, drug therapy policies, and other programs
  • This position also requires taking on call for one week per month
  Schedule: This position is scheduled to work full time 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM but may need provide coverage upon supervisor's request when necessary.   Starting Pay:$117,000.00 to $126,000.00 annually, based on experience.    About the Facility: The Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The Hospital has the capacity for a total of 250 beds, of which 93 are assigned for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, 50 for Pediatrics, 45 for Surgical Services, 20 for Psychiatry and 42 for Obstetrics & Gynecology. More than 10,000 patients are admitted per year to the Hospital's different services. Patients are attended by highly skilled staff of board certified physicians, most of which are faculty members of the University of Puerto-Rico School of Medicine. The Emergency Medicine Department receives more than 55,000 medical visits per year and provides 24-hour consultation for dental and psychiatric services. The Emergency Medicine Residency Program of the University of Puerto Rico-School of Medicine is housed in the Hospital and is accredited by the ACGME Emergency Medicine Residency Committee. The Hospital also provides a wide array of specialized ambulatory health services. These services operate in coordination with the Ambulatory Clinic of the University of Puerto Rico, located in the Reparto Metropolitano Shopping Center, adjacent the Puerto Rico Medical Center in San Juan, where an extensive array of sub-specialty physician care is available to the general population. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.   About the Pharmacy: The Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday 6:00am to 9:00pm and Weekends and Holidays 7:00am to 4:00pm.   Required Qualifications
  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
  • Current Puerto Rico pharmacist license active and in good standing
  • Experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff.
  • Must speak fluent Spanish
  • Must reside in Puerto Rico
  Hospital Requirements:
  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination) 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
