CRMC is seeking to hire a Physician Assistant to join our general surgery team. This position will support one of our four surgeons in all aspects of general surgery including inpatient care, first or second assist in the OR, and clinic consults and follow up visits. CRMC's general surgery group is a distinguished practice encompassing The Minnesota Heartburn and Reflux Center, CRMC Bariatric Center of Excellence, Robotic Center of Excellence, and the Hernia Specialists of Minnesota.
CRMC is a critical access hospital with eight operating room suites, two of which are robotic rooms with a DaVinci XI robot, and three endoscopy suites. We have multiple surgical and non surgical specialties and a robust hospitalist team to serve our patients.
This position typically spends 45% of their time in the OR, 45% in clinic, and 10% on inpatient care. You will be responsible for performing general surgery consults for new clinic, ER, and med/surg patients. You will assess and manage post op patients on the med/surg floor and in clinic in collaboration with the primary surgeon. You will work closely with the clinic, hospitalist, OR and PACU teams throughout the course of the patient's care.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant.
OR experience as a surgical tech, circulating nurse or first or second assist is preferred but willing to train a motivated and ambitious candidate.
License/Certifications:
National certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs. Minnesota PA license required.
Will need to obtain DEA and ACLS or CALS if not already done.
