Advanced finance position performing complex assignments requiring advanced analytical and technical skills. May serve as Subject Matter Expert for the unit participating in and sometimes leading special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
Evaluate, analyze and present monthly financial results relative to budgets and goals and other benchmark data to Great Lakes markets' senior leadership for commercial and Medicare business lines. Provide forecast reporting and support for the commercial group book of business to the Director and health plan CFO, with the goal of delivering a sound budget. Conduct analysis and or produce reports on an ad-hoc basis for strategic needs of market in support of the Director, health plan CFO and Great Lakes' market leadership. Partner with market finance teams, actuarial, underwriting, medical economics and sales teams to drive results and business initiatives.
Specific responsibilities include the oversight of 250K large group MA members, including case level performance tracking for UAW, Boeing, Arcelormittal, United Airlines and Chicago Police and Fire. Evaluate plan benefit package performance for almost 100K Individual Medicare members. Provide financial reporting and forecasting (including AEP membership tracking) for Medicare; participate in Medicare reserve setting; manage the monthly commercial and Medicare date of service review processes and action planning; and provide oversight of small group performance, financial reporting and forecasting
Candidate should exhibit strong written and oral communication skills and be confident meeting with the health plan CFO and market leadership team to solicit financial information to help construct forecasts, explain financial results, and/or identify opportunities to improve financial margins. Candidate should have experience in variance analysis focused on explaining what drives the gaps to forecast or budget. Strong systems aptitude is desired, especially in Excel and ability to manage large data sets. Experience with Hyperion SmartView is a plus. Also prefer candidates with healthcare experience that understand the metrics that drive the business.

Bachelor's Degree required; Preferably in Finance or Accounting
