The Highlights: Reporting to the Director of Advancement Data Systems, the Data Quality Coordinator is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the integrity of data in the alumni and donor database. The position is responsible for student workers that assist with the review and performance of data updates. The Data Quality Coordinator evaluates, implements and trains staff with new and existing data entry and update procedures. They also establish and maintain security for the Advance application, utilize Advance DataLoader for special projects and perform data integrity updates from external sources such as the National Change of Address lists.
What You'll Do:
- Keeps the database up-to-date by adding and editing demographic information; monitors the accuracy of data input by all system users, including Gift Processing, Prospect Research and Advancement Data Systems; implements regular monitoring and “data clean-up” procedures, and evolves new methods to use current software and statistical measures for this purpose.
- Organizes student workers to assign and review their work.
- Develops data input, cleanup, usage, security, and other system policies and procedures, and prepares training and reference materials.
- Analyzes and evaluates data for reporting to discover potential for major and annual giving activities.
- Allocates access to the system and monitors security.
- Works with contacts in Information Systems, Student Records and HR to ensure that optimal data quality is achieved.
- Manage data input and maintenance student workers, as needed. This includes performing the following duties: assigning and monitoring the progress of tasks and projects
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent data management experience, preferably in a fundraising or customer supporting environment.
- 2 years of experience working with databases, preferably Ellucian Advance.
- Familiarity with relational database structure and how to add/update/delete data while maintaining referential integrity.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated software skills with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Access.
- Understanding of Structured Query Language and relational databases or Salesforce is desirable.
