The Highlights:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Learning, the Part-time Program Coordinator helps oversee the day to day operations of the Supplemental Instruction program, supervises student employees, and provides support for student success initiatives.
What You'll Do:
Leadership/Planning
- Assist SI assistant director in the selection of SI courses and programs
- Maintain program records and student engagement data
- Manage schedules and room reservations
- Conduct program research and assessment
- Devise marketing strategies to promote programs
- Regularly evaluate program policies and procedures; make recommendations for improvement to the Assistant Director
- Update and enhance Student Success and SI website resources
- Purchases supplies and maintains departmental budget. Maintains student employee hour logs and timesheets to track student service budget
Management/Supervision
- Recruit, interview, and hire students on a quarterly basis
- Provide regular feedback to Assistant Director regarding student performance
- Directly supervise 30-40 student employees
- Conduct observations and performance appraisals
- Lead efforts in planning and presenting trainings for both in-person and online session facilitation
- Facilitate team meetings
- Provide feedback on lesson plans and session design
- Maintain SI Website and SI Slack workspaces
Special Project Support
- Participate in departmental programs and meetings
- Assist with collaborative events within CTL and other campus partners
- Bachelor's degree or 1+ years experience working in Supplemental Instruction.
- Supplemental Instruction Supervisor Certification can be obtained after hiring.
- Proficiency with online learning and in-person group facilitation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, and social networking.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Demonstration of professionalism and adaptability.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time, work at a computer, commute to campus and travel between Lincoln Park and Loop campuses. Some evening and weekends required.
