  • Able to communicate effectively with a diverse team

  • Highly skilled with Windows and Linux OS management
  • Someone who values standardization and automation
  • Highly Experienced with virtualization stacks (hardware/hypervisor/storage)
  • More interested in preventing fires than putting them out
  • Proficient in cloud automation and system performance management
  • Interested in leading a team and being a primary driver of the technology roadmap
  • Practicing system management with Ansible, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Experienced with coding in a team setting (GitHub, etc.)

Bonus points:

  • Experience with modern SRE practices
  • Experience with the ITIL framework
  • Experience designing, building, and implementing large scale backup environments

What you'll get to do:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to solve issues and build systems
  • Own core infrastructure (manage large-scale virtualization and public cloud environments)
  • Monitor and measure system health, availability and performance
  • Advocate for and implement changes that improve reliability, scalability, and velocity
  • Reduce toil with automation
  • Participate in an on-call rotation
  • Develop and sustain infrastructure and services that enable the university to operate and educate
  • Contribute to the reliability, availability, and security of university systems
  • Lead, plan and transition University services to cloud platforms
