FORVIS Next Evolution of Accounting Resourcefulness (NEAR), is comprised of team members who provide centralized services for the firm's assurance, tax and advisory practices. The NEAR team supports the firm by performing tasks that are generally lower risk, repetitive, and sometimes administrative in nature. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with team members across the firm and they will focus on productivity and innovative solutions to deliver quality work products to our teams. Through NEAR, team members are trained and developed to continually take on more meaningful work and provided opportunities to continue advancing their careers and required educational credentials.
This position can be hybrid in any of our FORVIS office locations or can be a fully remote work opportunity.
How you will contribute:
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of the firm's tax compliance policies and procedures.
- Prepare business tax returns.
- Prepare individual and trust tax returns.
- Prepare and support other tax compliance including property tax, 1099 compliance, fixed asset management, and other tax supporting areas.
- Preparing and reviewing various supporting tax calculations
- Maintaining and/or enhancing client service through work quality, work efficiency, and excellent relations with our tax teams
- Bring an agile and adaptable attitude to the NEAR Tax teams.
- Actively mentor NEAR Tax Associates through training and coaching
We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to drive and foster a team approach to projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in accounting or equivalent years of tax work experience
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Experience with individual tax preparation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CCH Axcess, GoSystem, CorpTax, OneSource, SurePrep or BNA Fixed Asset software
- Experience with C Corp and/or Flow Through tax preparation
- BNA Fixed Assets experience
- Previous supervisory experience
