Director of Health & Wellness

The Summit Senior Living, located in Hockessin, DE, is hiring a Director of Health & Wellness to lead the clinical team in our Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care community.

We offer a starting annual salary of approximately $120,000, commensurate with experience, along with a 10% annual performance bonus target.

Your Role: Director of Health & Wellness

As the Director of Health & Wellness, you'll lead the clinical operations of the community with a focus on delivering high-quality, person-centered care. You'll oversee compliance, staff supervision, service planning, and resident wellness while fostering open communication with families and clinical partners. Your leadership will directly impact the safety, satisfaction, and health outcomes of residents, while supporting a strong culture of accountability and compassion.

What You'll Do

Clinical Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to clinical care
  • Lead data collection and analysis related to clinical trends; implement corrective action plans when needed
  • Partner with the Administrator and department heads to proactively address resident and team member health and safety concerns
  • Collaborate with pharmacy consultants to ensure safe and effective medication management
  • Maintain current service plans and ensure updates are completed following health status changes or regulatory timelines
  • Participate in community awareness activities and outreach related to resident care

Resident Care & Family Communication

  • Oversee resident assessments and the service planning process to ensure personalized and compliant care delivery
  • Notify responsible parties of changes in resident status or service levels
  • Inform the Business Office of any resulting fee changes related to updated care needs
  • Maintain open communication with residents' families and support transparency and trust

Team Leadership & Staffing

  • Supervise LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical care team members in alignment with organizational policies and care standards
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Create monthly staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage to support resident needs
  • Maintain adequate clinical supply inventory and ordering procedures
  • Participate in a shared, rotating on-call schedule

What You Bring

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing leadership experience (senior living experience preferred)
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and team leadership skills
  • Familiarity with state-specific regulatory requirements related to senior living or long-term care
