The role of the Senior Manager IT Transformation involves offering professional guidance on organizational structure, transformation, and strategic growth to boost the culture, performance, and efficiency of the IT department. This position is responsible for strategic organizational design, change management, data interpretation, and providing leadership assistance to facilitate both operational and strategic success. The role aims to enhance organizational efficiency and performance and yield business results through the implementation of change initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities: What major responsibilities does this position have and what percentage of time is spent on completing them?

 

Organizational Structure & Strategic Development

  • Coordinate organizational design initiatives directly supporting transformation goals, aligning roles, processes, and team structures to enable the IT department's ways of working.
  • Develop sustainable and repeatable principles, processes, and tools for organization design and change management.
  • Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational change initiatives, including assessing and diagnosing organizational issues, developing change planning strategies, creating communication plans, and implementing change programs.
  • Coordinate review of existing resource governance processes and the design of new resource governance processes. Includes training on the application of principles to internal processes.

Management & Tracking

  • Identify critical organizational issues and root causes; provide objective, practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Effectively facilitate groups and teams through dynamic or sometimes challenging situations to mediate disputes related to organization structure.
  • Assist leaders and staff during periods of transition, specifically related to organizational restructuring to facilitate employees' adaptation, reduce disruption and promote seamless transition and adjustment.
  • Coordinate logistics related to transformation and training, such as communications, negotiating vendor contracts, managing invoices, and setting up and facilitating training sessions and meetings.
  • Coordinate internal phase-gating, investment decision analysis & governance, walkthrough processes and seek opportunities for enhancement.
  • Manage, track, and update various artifacts, resources, and systems that support the organization model and provide communication about changes for subsequent execution to accountable stakeholders.

 

Training, Development, and Culture

  • Provide training and guidance on existing organizational structure, organizational science, design principles, models, and execution procedures.
  • Teach team efficiency for both new and established groups; put into practice constructs and methodologies for high-performing teams.
  • Create and deliver training content and experiences to support upskilling and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate review of existing culture and of the design of new cultural principles. Includes training in and advice on culture principles, promoting an employee-centric environment
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the IT department by providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for team members.

Qualifications:

Work Experience &/or Education: What are the minimum education and/or experience requirements necessary to perform this job?

  • Bachelor's degree Required (Information Technology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management or organizational development
  • 8 years minimum experience in IT required
  • Retail Experience Required
  • PMP Required
