EECU is looking for a Business Development Specialist that will support Business Development Management and Community Events & Sponsorship Management in the Dallas/Collin County area.
The Business Development Specialist, under the direction of the Director, Schools & Community Relations, creates, builds, maintains, and grows effective long-term relationships with schools, community partners, and Select Employee Groups to enhance EECU's image, reputation, and brand awareness
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for building awareness of EECU's products and services in the community by generating consistent and positive exposure of EECU through events and sponsorships. They are responsible for all aspects, including creating and securing the opportunity, gathering all necessary team members and materials, pre and post communications with internal and external stakeholders, tracking and measuring the return on marketing investment of the events and sponsorships.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. with the ability work nights and weekends to attend meetings, events, and support various field locations.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for executing communication and relationship management plans that create, cultivate, and deepen strategic partnerships with schools, community partners, and SEGs. In addition, provide timely reports on results of business development initiatives and make recommendations for modifications as needed.
- Under the direction of the Director, Schools & Community Relations, attend approved meetings, events, education seminars, and other activities that strengthen strategic partner relationships and increase the credit union's brand, product, and service awareness. Track and measure the effectiveness of these activities and ensure lead opportunities are distributed for follow-up.
- Work closely with the Director, Schools & Community Relations to identify, prioritize, and execute events supporting strategic initiatives (For example, Shred Days, Financial Literacy Seminars, etc.). Take the lead in orchestrating and directing events. Serve as project leaders responsible for the oversight, budgeting, promotion, and execution of the events. Track and measure the effectiveness of these events and ensure lead opportunities are distributed for follow-up.
- Educate existing and potential schools, community partners, and SEGs about the benefits of affiliation with the credit union, along with products and services available to them. Track and measure the effectiveness of these initiatives.
- Maintain a calendar of events and sponsorships, responsibilities, and timelines to develop event plans and objectives, research, survey and explore options and plan for optimal results with minimal expense.
- Execute both external and internal communication plans to raise awareness of the credit union's school & community activities, and other ways the credit union serves the community.
- Assists marketing department with projects as needed as well as other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree required in Communications, Business Administration or closely related field required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Business Development, Public Relations, Project Management, Event Planning or other related field.
- Must be able to travel up to 60% within Dallas/Collin County area and 40% in Fort Worth/general North Texas to meet clients, attend meetings, and support various field operations.
- Valid TX driver's license and insurability.
Key qualifications for the Business Development Specialist:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all organizational levels and represent the credit union in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering presentations, conducting outreach, and engaging diverse audiences in both business and community settings.
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and manage events, projects, and multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to independently evaluate situations and implement effective solutions.
- Thorough knowledge of credit union products, services, and member engagement strategies.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, motivate others, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong project management, planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills to ensure successful completion of initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, build positive relationships, and make a favorable impression with members, employees, business partners, and community stakeholders.
Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Service Members Civil Relief, and FCRA/FACTA. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
