Here at Engineered Sales (ESI), we design and manufacture electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic components, manifolds, systems, and software.  The Engineering Manager is responsible for all technical aspects related to selling, producing, and supporting these products and their respective customers.

 

  • Manage the engineering department personnel, including manufacturing engineers, design engineers, application engineers, and technicians.
  • Guide and facilitate sales activities for new customer projects through direct customer interaction.
  • Support account managers with technical analysis of customer application requirements.
  • Maintain the project management database with project detail, customer information, project type, planned and actual dates, and workload assignments.
  • Lead or participate in defect investigation, root cause analysis, countermeasure implementation, and quality gate review.
  • Provide management, technical, and training support to other AFP subsidiaries (Fluid Tech).
  • Complete engineering projects as an individual contributor, as required by backlog and customer needs.This is a ‘working manager' position.
  • Identify opportunities for internal capacity or profitability improvements, analyze and present to management, and manage implementation.
  • Provide periodic reporting of performance metrics to management.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and assembly departments to address production challenges, with the goal of continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support to inside sales, procurement, and related activities.
  • Provide insight and feedback in a collaborative environment with the management team.

 

Position Requirements

  • Experience in an engineering role
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic and electronic control system design preferred.
  • Experience with application software development.
