Job Summary:
Responsible for patient transportation, maintenance of OR supply levels, OR sanitation and Environmental support services, pre-op and post-op patient and case preparation. Provides equipment, supplies and furniture for cases and provision of Anesthesiology technical support.

Job Essentials:

  • Assists in ambulating, transporting/transferring and positioning patients.
  • Delivering equipment, specimens, blood, x-rays and supplies in a timely manner.
  • Assists co-workers readily in providing patient care support (pre and post-
  • operative).
  • Provides supplies, solutions, equipment and furniture needed for cases.
  • Loads, tests and operates sterilization and disinfection equipment/sets up equipment as needed for cases.
  • Maintains cleanliness and par levels of unit-based equipment.
  • Implements preventive maintenance program under Biomedical Department direction.
  • Provides first level troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Maintains adequate level of supplies in all related areas.
  • Assists in the Materials Department with distribution and inventory.
  • Prepares and updates forms, logs and records related to the equipment and supplies on the unit.
  • Ensures that patient rights are respected as identified in the Patient's Bill of Rights.
  • Applies principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment/supplies used in all cases.
  • Identifies and informs unit manager (or designee) of safety issues.
  • Maintains current knowledge of role through attendance at all mandatory educational programs.
  • Maintains a positive image in performance, conduct, and appearance.


Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED plus technical schooling.

Englewood Health requires all newly hired team members to provide either (a) documentation of Covid-19 vaccination, or (b) documentation of receipt of Covid-19 vaccination dose #1 prior to hire date, and to complete the series within the prescribed schedule for the particular vaccination. If pursuant to option (b), a candidate is not fully vaccinated prior to their first day of work, documentation must be presented upon completion of the series as a condition of employment.
