Job Summary:

Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level.  Responsible for maintaining supply levels. EHMC employees throughout the Medical Center will use behaviors and interpersonal communication styles that are appropriate for a hospital environment and demonstrate courtesy, dignity and respect. G.R.E.A.T will be used for all patient interactions to enhance the patient experience

Job Essentials: 

 

 

At all times, lives the values of the organization in performing each of the following:

 

  1. Prepares room and equipment for radiologic procedures.
  2. Cleans and disinfects X-ray room and equipment according to protocol
  3. Prepares patient X-ray exams and procedures.
  4. Verifies procedure in Epic & reviews any other special notes or comments.
  5. Explains exams and procedures, positions patient and assists patient at end of procedure.
  6. Ensures that patients are as comfortable as possible during exam.
  7. Processes images and produces CD's of images as requested.
  8. Provides appropriate information on images with respects to patient, position, time date, name, uses markers and, as required, by specific procedure.
  9. Measures patient to assist in selecting desires technique factors.
  10. Maintains technique charts.
  11. Uses immobilization devices, selects MA, time and KV, and provides lead shields, to produce quality radiographs and provide radiation protection.
    1. Uses Imaging Wisely principles
  12. Uses fluoro under the direct supervision of a physician, assists physician during procedures as required.
  13. Maintains the necessary supplies in x-ray rooms.
  14. Position may require to cover multiple offsite locations including the Hospital.
  15. Informs Lead Tech/Supervisor of any unusual occurrences with respect to equipment.
  16. Observes patient and machine during procedures.
  17. Interacts with the patient and responds to his/her needs within a context which recognizes the growth and development process, or the aging process of that patient.
  18. Provides services to male and female patients of all age groups.
  19. Uses the online Safety Reporting System to report patient safety incidents that occur in the department
  20. Performs other related duties as required.


Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree and satisfactory completion of a two year AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.


License/Certification/Registry:

  • Satisfactory completion of a two year AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.
