Description

The Senior Quality Assurance Inspector for the Fab Shop is responsible for executing the corporate quality strategy, ensure welding services / products from HRO fabrication shop meet company standards, procedures and code. They will provide inspection, instruction, quality assurance and support to HRO fabrication group while liaising with company welding group, and mechanical integrity. This position will report to the QA Supervisor for TAR and NRM.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversees compliance with Company Quality Program.
  • Oversees compliance with Code requirements.
  • Oversees adherence to Company procedures and standards.
  • Plans, coordinates, schedules and supervises all additional quality control inspection contracted to support Company Fabrication group.
  • Conducts regular quality audits of manufacturing / fabrication processes to identify areas for improvement to Quality Programs, Company procedures and Company standards, with respect to welding activities to support Company Welding group. 
  • Integrated into the process of reviewing welder qualifications and experience to determine eligibility for certification.
  • Performing inspections, tests, and measurements to verify welding services / products of Company welding crew.
  • Documenting defects, non-conformities, and deviations, and collaborating with Welding Department to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain network drive for in-service inspect or qualifications/certifications and OQ requirements.
  • Submits reports and information as required by Senior Manager, Welding. 
  • Conducts audits of welder qualification, mechanical testing facilities, and subcontract fabrication shops that Company utilizes.


Requirements

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • High school education or the equivalent is required.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification through American Welding Society.
  • Five (5) years' experience in equipment inspection, general welding inspection, welder qualification programs within the oil and gas industry.
  • General knowledge of welding, and Non-destructive Examination “NDE” (UT, RT, MT, PT, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in executing quality programs.
  • Ability to work in varied environments and climates.
  • Is self-motivated and has high quality work ethics.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Desired Characteristics
    • Associates degree in inspection technology, welding technology or the equivalent preferred.

    • Working knowledge of industry specs and standards with regard to PSM & DOT piping and fixed equipment repairs.
