Description

    Established in 1968, privately held EPCO, Inc. and its affiliates own significant equity interests in five publicly traded partnerships with a combined enterprise value of approximately $30 billion. The EPCO family of partnerships comprises one of North America's largest midstream energy networks, providing a variety of services, including transportation, gathering, storage, processing fractionation and terminaling, to producers and consumers of natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil, refined products, liquefied petroleum gases and petrochemicals.   The Manager of Field Engineering will be responsible for the assigned field engineers looking after plant optimization, operational efficiencies, scope development, project execution and process safety management activities.  The Manager of Field Engineering ensures that projects are designed and constructed in accordance with the Company's Engineering guidelines and Specifications, industry codes and standards, and regulatory agency requirements to meet necessary functionality and performance requirements.  As well as:

  • Provide technical support and management direction to a team of field engineers.
  • Responsible for the planning, execution, design, construction and alteration of gas and liquids plants and pipelines. 
  • Tasks include safety, process improvements, employee training and development, community relations, liaison with regulatory agencies and public officials, and cost control.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with petroleum industry peers, consultants, process and construction specialists, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical support to the Company's operations.
  • Perform plant simulations to establish baselines, simulate modifications and estimate performance enhancements to existing plant facilities.
  • Perform Plant Optimization Studies (Surveillance) to determine if existing assets are performing to expectations.
  • Prepare project design scopes in support of commercial development.


Requirements

    The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 to 15 years experience in a gas processing plant environment is preferable but management and technical experience will be considered in the final evaluation.
  • Proficiency in basic PC skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Process modeling software such as Hysys or equivalent not required, but considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and  communication skills, with the ability to manage a large, diverse group spread over a large geographic area.
  • Office Environment - Extensive sitting while working with computers, reading, and communicating via telephone.
  • Field/Plant Environment - exposure to on-going operations and construction under varying environmental conditions,  walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, entering vessels and confined spaces wearing a safety harness.
