We are seeking a reliable, safety‑focused Facility Technician to help maintain a critical building and its surrounding grounds. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in keeping facilities operating smoothly, and can work independently with minimal supervision. You'll support daily operations, perform routine maintenance, and ensure a clean, safe, and functional environment for all occupants.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform routine semi‑skilled maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and groundskeeping.
  • Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, and blowers.
  • Maintain facilities in a safe, clean, and operational condition at all times.
  • Assemble, repair, relocate, and maintain furniture (desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, etc.).
  • Conduct routine inspections of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems; replace filters; report complex issues.
  • Inspect facilities and grounds for safety or security concerns and report hazards promptly.
  • Follow safe work practices and use required PPE appropriately.
  • Perform custodial duties and assist with detailed cleaning of interior and exterior spaces.
  • Support structural pest control measures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of daily activities and completed work.
  • Handle trash and recycling removal.
  • Assist other Facilities team members and serve as backup when needed.
  • Operate company vehicles as required.
  • Dedicate scheduled hours to office tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
  • Respond to emergency call‑ins during storms or natural disasters (debris removal, snow/ice clearing).
  • Work overtime based on business needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirements

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work during extreme weather conditions and emergency situations.
  • Ability to respond to after‑hours emergency call‑ins.
  • Strong reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance tools/equipment.
  • Ability to maintain adequate custodial supply inventory.
  • Strong communication and record‑keeping skills.
