Salary: $63,361 - $78,891 DOE (for 260-day work year)

Class Summary:
The Custodial Supervisor will work under the direction of the Regional Maintenance Foreman and will oversee the implementation of the District's accepted custodial service plan. They are responsible for planning and supervising district wide custodial and grounds activities, security, equipment repair and building rental operations with a cost-effective delivery of services. They also provide management and administrative services for the district.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Five (5) years increasingly responsible experience in the areas of custodial services management or closely related field. Must have supervisory capabilities, available for emergency situations during off duty hours.
The candidate must be computer literate and proficient with Excel and PowerPoint programs. Must be able to interpret technical data and demonstrate ability to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals. Must have experience with automated control systems. Strong communication skills for dealing in a public forum. Independent work ethics. A large measure of diplomacy, data management and analysis, quick study, perpetual student. Experience with coordinating and scheduling public facilities for community usage
Ability to utilize communication applications with multilingual translation capabilities to collaborate effectively with individuals who speak different languages.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Manages, supervises and evaluates the district custodial and grounds functions performed by direct-hire personnel. Manages custodial services associated with facility use.
Advise and make recommendations to the Director or designee on custodial services staff, structure, materials, and equipment needs.
Provide input on contractual support activities (capital projects) related to custodial services and the purchase of any products that affects custodial services.
Reviews estimates regarding custodial services and budget allotments for all District facilities and develops procedures for efficient utilization of those resources.
Advises director in matters related to custodial services.
Prepare regular reports to the Director on the status of the District's custodial services plan implementation. May be asked to make presentations to School Board as required.
Report any safety hazards observed to the building administrator.
Performs regular "walk throughs", audits of all District facilities, during evening shift hours.
Prepares narrative/statistical reports and budget projections detailing the activities of custodial services. Monitors supply usage at each building; cost saving options for custodial preventative maintenance measures; and forecasted consumption levels for the coming year.
Develops and enforces quality control standards and procedures for all tasks assigned to the custodial and grounds department.
Provides technical review and analysis of cleaning products, materials and equipment used by personnel in the district.
Develops and maintains a trained staff of temporary hire for district substitute custodians.
Manages budget documents for areas of responsibility.
Provides support to the Director of Facilities for the purpose of meeting district goals and objectives.
Assist Facility use coordinator for the purpose of providing a clean and safe environment for public use of district facilities
Reviews prospective Custodial candidates (e.g. screening, interviewing, etc.) for the purpose of making recommendations for hiring new custodial staff.
Supervises custodial functions (e.g. planning, scheduling, coordinating activities, training, discipline, evaluation) for the purpose of ensuring the district functions in a safe and efficient manner.
Other duties as assigned.
