Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Commodity Manager – Automation, Machinery and Equipment located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Global Commodity Management Director, in this role you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of global strategies to provide Flex segments and business groups with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance. Working closely with the Global Automation team / Local Management, the Commodity Manager Indirect will communicate and implement strategies, contracts and pricing to the Americas region with an overall focus on maintaining good supplier relationships and costs to a minimum to achieve maximum advantage for the company and its customers.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Establish and manage long term strategic and core supplier relationships and will engage with Flex sites and business segments.
  • Guide commercial the selection, development and management of Core and Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity costs and performance goals.
  • Design and implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization
  • Provide Quotation centers with support from core and strategic suppliers to obtain competitive and timely quotes
  • Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges.  Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Customer Supply Chain Managers and Product Introduction centers to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs.
  • Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends.
  • Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate.
  • Participate in the review of supplier contracts, outlining requirements and considerations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to optimize supply chain operations, adhering to our compliance standards.
  • Be able to track, document, and communicate SOW changes to Supplier and Stakeholders on a fast-paced environment.
  • Drive cost reduction/improvement negotiations considering a Total Cost of Ownership approach.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• BA/BS degree.

• Engineering with Commercial background experience is required.

• Advanced English level.

• 5–7 years of professional experience is expected.

• Contract Negotiation previous experience.

• Extensive knowledge in manufacturing/ processes preferrable for the electronics industry.

• Strong experience within the industry (3D data, drawing interpretation, tolerances, etc.)

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills: excel, project & power point.

• Strong experience in supplier development, scouting, NPI and localization.

• Strategic Supplier Development.

• Leadership.

• Teamwork.

• Decision maker.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

• Excellent communication skills: communicate with different levels of the organization and customer facing.

• Automation background is a plus.
